Turkish “Besiktas” started negotiations with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about the appointment to the position of head coach of the team, reports NTV Spor.
According to the publication, the Istanbul club would have offered the Norwegian a one and a half year contract. The 50-year-old managed Manchester United from 2018 to 2021; he had previously coached Cardiff City and Norwegian Molde.
Earlier, Besiktas announced the resignation of Ryza Chalymbay from the post of head coach. Turkish media reported that former coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov, former coach of Lokomotiv Moscow Slaven Bilic and several other specialists are competing for the vacant position.
Cherchesov’s last team was the Hungarian Ferencvaros, which the specialist left in July.
