Dibango: I am delighted with Ukrainians and love borscht

The Cameroonian defender spoke about acclimatization in the team

Defender Krivbassa Ivan Dibango spoke about his acclimatization in the team and in Ukraine.

“I don’t know Ukraine very well yet, but I’m delighted with the Ukrainians. I really like the people in Krivoy Rog, they are simply wonderful. I haven’t had a chance to try many Ukrainian dishes yet. But I definitely love borscht. This is such a Ukrainian soup.”

“Accepting Ukrainian citizenship is a difficult question, I can’t answer it now. I like Ukraine, I respect it, but now this is a difficult question for me.”

“My career started in Cameroon, in the First League. Then I moved to Belarus, and now I’m playing in Ukraine. I think if it weren’t for football, I could have been a mathematician. I loved studying, but the opportunity came to move to Europe to play football, so now I’m a footballer.”

“I have a ritual that I perform not only before important matches, before every game. I read the Bible and pray to God. He protects me and gives me strength to play football. My ritual is the Bible.”

“I would like to exchange shirts with David Alaba in the future. He is my favorite player. I really like his game.”

Previously, Dibango was named the best player of Krivbass in the first half of the 2023/24 season according to the club’s fans. This season, Ivan played in 18 matches for Krivbass. The 21-year-old Cameroonian has 1 goal and 4 assists.

Krivbass went to the winter break as the leader of the UPL. Yuri Vernidub’s team scored 34 points and is ahead of Dnepr-1 in additional indicators.

The team will return from vacation in January. From January 15 to February 15, Krivbass will hold a training camp in Alicante, Spain. During this time, the coaching staff plans to conduct about ten sparring sessions. Several rivals are already known – local Murcia, Danish Viborg and Polish Piast.
