Former Rubin coach Rinat Bilyaletdinov assessed the performance of the Kazan club in the first part of the RPL WORLD season.

— How do you judge Rubin’s first part of the season?
— Seventh place is entirely consistent with the composition of the team and the selection of players.
— Does Rubin have the resources to climb higher? Or is 7th place his ceiling?
— You have to know all the football players to answer this question. You need to understand whether this or that football player is playing to the limit. On the other hand, if a player works up to the limit, then he increases his abilities. But not everyone can do it; some touch the ceiling. These are already characteristics of the body. – We have to see who will leave and who will come. Because some guys might be cut from the team, including FNL. So we need to see if Rubin weakens in winter. There will be changes in the squad anyway, because reinforcements are needed, but I also want to make money.
— Is Rubin making progress under Rakhimov?
— At the start of the season, everyone saw Rubin as a team that would fight for survival. But I said there was no crisis there, not even close. It’s just that stronger teams are more often lucky. It was the same with the Kazan team when the team was missing points. But there is no need to make hasty conclusions, because then everything stabilizes and depends on the recruitment and training process. Rubin hasn’t had any outright disastrous games, even though he hasn’t scored any points. So he’ll take his.
Rubin was clearly working on recruiting his roster. The roll was made towards offensive actions. That’s right, because you won’t win a game with a good defense.
