Erik ten Hag: Ronaldo is in our plans and is not for sale

The Portuguese did not go with Manchester United for the pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia due to family problems

Manchester United head coach Eric ten Hag said he wants to keep the striker in the team Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Ronaldo didn’t tell me he wanted to leave the club. He is no longer with us for personal reasons. We look forward to Ronaldo in the new season. I look forward to working with him.”

“He didn’t tell me he wanted to leave. I read about it, but, as I said, it is not for sale, it is included in our plans. We want to succeed together,” ten Hag said at a press conference in Thailand.

Recall that Cristiano Ronaldo did not go with Manchester United on a pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia. The Portuguese has already missed several team practices, citing family problems. At the same time, the Manchester United leadership agreed to give Cristiano additional time to resolve their issues.

Earlier it was reported that Ronaldo could become a Chelsea player. The Blues are ready to offer Manchester United £14m for the striker’s transfer.

Last season, Ronaldo scored 24 goals and provided three assists in 39 matches for the Mancunians in all competitions.

Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and will play in the Europa League next season.
