Petrakov: The list of players to replace Dynamo has been fixed

The head coach of the Ukrainian national football team was surprised at the leadership position of the Kiev club.

The coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team is always ready to meet the needs of the clubs. As a result, the start of the national team’s training camp will be postponed to the second of May. This was stated by Oleksandr Petrakov, head coach of the team, in an interview with the Ukrainian Football Association.

At the same time, the specialist expressed surprise at the leadership position of Kiev Dynamo, which refused to let the players go to the national team. He recalled that the Cabinet of Ministers had allowed the players to leave exactly on the condition that they would prepare for important qualifying matches for the World Cup.

“Honestly, I was shocked. I did not expect such an answer. First of all, I want to remind you, if, perhaps, someone forgot: in the current era of war, Ukrainian clubs, unfortunately, are deprived of opportunity to participate in official games, and only the Ukrainian national team prepares for very important international matches.What official matches does Dynamo prepare and what regulations does FIFA justify in its refusal to provide players on the dates stated in the call?

There was war in the country, all domestic competitions were suspended: FIFA regulations apply to official matches, which are not in our clubs today because of the war. What interests is the Kyiv club defending today? I would like to add that the UAF announced their intention to organize a training camp on April 29 of all our clubs, where we invite candidates for the national team, on April 11. I do not remember that Dynamo at the time announced a schedule of charity matches, resulting in a letter to us.

No one called me on the phone and no one offered. Any adjustments can be made, I understand the club’s plans. For example, Dario Srna from Donetsk Shakhtar confronted me, asking me to give the team a chance to play in a friendly match between Donetsk and Haiduk on May 1, immediately after which the players will move to the camp. national team. A day or two doesn’t play a decisive role – and I went forward.

I canceled the sparring previously scheduled for May 2. The coaching staff of the national team, its staff and the first players will arrive at the base of the Slovenian national association on the night of the 1st, and on the th -2 the miners will join, and we will begin the training process.

My message is the same: there is a call from the national team – on May 2 you need to be in Slovenia. And I would like to remind the club leadership that permits for temporary travel abroad are granted to football clubs by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine precisely because of the preparation of the national team for the official games.

Earlier, I thanked the clubs for this initiative and for the fact that they provide gaming training in the collections. But now we’re bringing the national team together so there’s no need to have non-existent excuses and put spokes on the wheels during the main team preparation process. The country is at war, and now there are no halftones. Everything should be clear: there is a call to the national team, please go. Otherwise, no matter how frustrating, Dynamo will have to go back to Ukraine, and I will have to replace Dynamo with players from other clubs.
