Alexander Alayev will be the only candidate for the post of president of the Russian Premier League (RPL), reports the press service of the league.
The RPL Electoral Commission has finished accepting applications for participation in the election of the leader of the league, the registration of candidates has been completed. Only Alaev, interim president of the RPL since July 7, will take part in the elections.
The candidate for the post of head of the RPL was registered by the electoral commission of the AFC RPL and sent to the electoral committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
In June, Ashot Khachaturyants stepped down as league chief. An extraordinary meeting of the general assembly of clubs, during which a new president of the RPL will be elected, will be held on August 16.
