Russian goalkeeper Andrey Lunev told that 2023 turned out to be a complicated year for him, but a successful match for “Karabakh” this season has changed the situation for the better.
During the summer transfer window, Lunev left German Bayer to join Qarabag. In total, the goalkeeper played 15 official matches for the Azerbaijani club and missed 14 goals.
— Generally speaking, can we describe 2023 as a positive year?
– It was wrinkled. The start of the year was disgusting, it couldn’t be worse! The end – yes, corrected for the year 2023! You can say I pulled you out of the hole. But at the beginning of the year, I thought the situation would improve. I did my best and I’m glad my work wasn’t buried in the sand.
— What grade could you give yourself?
“I was able to come back to football after an injury, and that’s the most important thing for me. Many said that this injury could have had serious consequences, but fortunately everything ended well. So I’ll give it a four plus rating.
— Are you setting goals for 2024?
– I don’t bet. I would like to extract everything from myself, as I tried before. The main thing is that there are no injuries, that health is not failing, and then we will try,” Lunev told .
