The decision to fire Dinis was reportedly made by the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodriguez.
Note that Dinis, 49, is also the head coach of Fluminense. He combined the positions.

Under the leadership of Dinis, the Brazilian national team played six qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. In them, the Brazilians won two, suffered three defeats and drew one match.
