Lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky, in a conversation with , expressed the opinion that the Netherlands did not send a request to the UAE regarding the possible extradition of the Moscow footballer.Spartak » Quincy Promesa .
Earlier, Dutch portal Voetbalzone reported that Promes could be extradited from the United Arab Emirates to the Netherlands after he posted a photo on social media from a birthday party in Dubai. Last June, an Amsterdam court sentenced the 32-year-old attacker to 18 months in prison for attacking his cousin.
“To date, we do not know whether Russia has received any extradition requests from Promes. I haven’t heard of it. If Russia had received (the request), then it would have been 100% known. Apparently the Netherlands did not send the request anywhere, including the United Arab Emirates. So, we are faced with the facts: either the prosecution is contested, or the Netherlands is not interested in Promes returning to the country. Promes calmly went to the UAE, knowing that no requests were received in Russia, and even more so in the UAE,” Dobrovinsky told .
Promes has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists.
Spartak will attend the winter training camp in the United Arab Emirates on January 22.
