The Football Union of Russia is going to take part in the UEFA Congress

The event will take place on February 8 in Paris

The head of the Russian Football Union, Alexander Dyukov, said that his organization is going to take part in UEFA Congress and even determined the composition of the delegation.

The said congress will be held in Paris on February 8. Nothing is known yet about the reaction of officials to such a statement.

In March, Russia plans to hold a friendly match with the Serbian national team. The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) in December turned to FIFA and UEFA with a request to look into the situation.

After the start of full-scale military aggression on the territory of Ukraine, Russian sports quickly found themselves banned. Football clubs and national teams of the aggressor country were thrown out of official competitions under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA.

In September 2023, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin said that Russian football clubs and national teams of the Russian Federation will be under a UEFA ban until the end of hostilities in Ukraine.

Early in the morning of February 24, 2022, Russia fired rockets and aerial bombardment of most Ukrainian cities, and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has continued for the 683rd day.
