The defender was injured in the match with Arsenal in the FA Cup
Defender Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold out for several weeks with a knee injury. This was announced by assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders.
“Trent sprained his knee badly during the last game. He has a small tear to his collateral ligament and will need time to recover. Trent had a scan and was out for a few weeks,” Leinders said.
The 25-year-old defender was injured in the match with Arsenal (2:0) in the third round of the FA Cup. The match with the Gunners was Trent’s 25th this season in all competitions. The defender has two goals and nine assists.
Liverpool leads the Premier League, three points ahead of their closest rival Aston Villa. The Reds next host Fulham in the first League Cup semi-final on 10 January.
