PSG president responded to Messi’s criticism after leaving club: ‘That’s not what you could call respect’

President of Paris Saint-Germain Nasser Al-GermainKhélaïfi expressed his regret over the statements of world champion Lionel Messi at the French club after his departure for Inter Miami.

The Argentine striker left PSG at the end of last season and signed a contract with the MLS side. In June, Messi said his two years with the Parisian team had been difficult for him.

“I have a lot of respect for him, but if someone speaks badly about PSG, it’s not good, it’s not what you can call respect. He’s not a bad person, but I don’t like it. I want anyone to talk about the club when they are a player. Not after we leave… That’s not our style.

Messi is the best player in history. It was not easy for him to come here after many years in Barcelona. There, everything was done for him. Kylian (Mbappé) plays here and there were other players like Neymar, said Al-Khelaïfi on RMC Sport.

The Argentine striker played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2023.
