Hrgovic agreed to fight Parker on the undercard of the Joshua-Ngannou fight

The event is scheduled to take place on March 9

Mandatory challenger for IBF heavyweight title Filip Hrgovic agreed to the proposal of the team of the former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker about the head-to-head match.

“I am very glad to hear such a proposal. I am ready and accept it. Joe, let’s do this,” Hrgovic said.

The fight between Hrgovic and Parker is scheduled to take place on March 9 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The final fight of the evening will be a meeting between former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

At the end of December, Parker fought as part of the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Riyadh. Joseph defeated Deontay Wilder by unanimous decision. That same evening, the Croatian heavyweight defeated Mark De Mori of Australia by TKO in the first round.

Let us remind you that Hrgovic is the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight belt, which is owned by Ukrainian champion Alexander Usyk. The winner of Usik’s fight with Tyson Fury will be required to defend his title without any intermediate fights. Otherwise, the IBF belt will become vacant, and the Croatian will need to find an opponent for the title fight.
