Brazilian specialist Dorival Junior appointed to the position of head coach of the Brazilian men’s football team, the national team’s press service reported.
The duration of the contract with the 61-year-old specialist has not been specified.
Dorival Junior had previously left a similar position in Sao Paulo, which he had led since April this year. The Brazilian has also coached Flamengo, Atlético Paranaense, Santos, Palmeiras, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama, Internacional, Atlético Mineiro, Cruzeiro and other Brazilian clubs.
As a coach, Junior won the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Cup three times.
Since the summer of 2023, the duties of head coach of the Brazilian national team have been carried out by Fernando Diniz, who was dismissed from this position in early January.
