“At best, I have a year to live.” Former England manager reveals he has cancer

Former coach England team about football Sven-Göran Eriksson reported that he had been diagnosed with cancer, due to which he had “at best a year” to live.

Ericsson is 75 years old. Last year, the specialist left the post of sports director of the Swedish Karlstad for health reasons. According to Aftonbladet, the coach suffers from inoperable pancreatic cancer.

“Everyone understands that I suffer from a serious illness.” Everyone guessed it was cancer. Yes it is. But I have to fight as long as I can. At best I have a year, at worst less. But I don’t think doctors can be completely sure.

It’s better not to think about it because you’ll have to trick your brain. “I could think about it all the time, staying at home, being unhappy and considering myself unlucky,” Sky News quoted Eriksson as saying, citing Swedish radio P1.

Eriksson has managed Swedish club Gothenburg, Benfica Lisbon, a number of Italian and Chinese clubs, English clubs Manchester City and Leicester, and has also coached the national teams of Mexico, Ivory Coast and Philippines. He worked with the England national team from 2001 to 2006.
