The Ukrainian lost both sets in tiebreaker
The first racket of Ukraine Vitaly Sachko completed performances at Australian Open. IN semi-final qualifying he lost with a fight to the American Aleksandar Kovacevic.
The two-set match lasted more than two hours. In both games it came to a tiebreaker, and both times the seventh seeded qualifier was more successful than his opponent – 7:5, 7:4.
Now there are no representatives of Ukraine left in the men’s draw of the Australian Open – let us remind you that Ilya Marchenko sheathed his racket in the first qualifying round.
But there are a lot of Ukrainians in the women’s bracket. Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko will begin their performances from the first main round. Dayana Yastremskaya, Yulia Starodubtseva and Daria Snigur are trying to get through the qualification sieve – they have all already overcome two qualifying rounds.
The same Kalinina will perform at the first major of the year in doubles, as well as Marta Kostyuk, Lyudmila and Nadezhda Kichenok. Also in the main draw of the duet competition was the Ukrainian Denis Molchanov along with the Serbian Nikola Cacic.
