The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has expressed its support for the former head coach of the England national team. Sven-Göran Eriksson who was diagnosed with inoperable cancer.
Ericsson previously announced that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. According to the 75-year-old Swedish specialist, he has “at best a year” to live.
“All of European football is with you, Sven,” says the UEFA press service.
Manchester City also supported the team’s former coach.
“Everyone at City thinks of Eriksson. “We would like to express our collective support to our former manager, his family and friends,” the City team said in a statement.
Eriksson managed the Swedish club Gothenburg, Benfica Lisbon, a number of Italian and Chinese clubs, Manchester City, Leicester, and also coached the national teams of England, Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Philippines .
