Defender of Kazan “Rubin” Egor Sorokin said that he will not go with the club to the winter training camp, as head coach Rashid Rakhimov does not see him in the team.
Sorokin joined Rubin as a free agent in early September from Krasnodar. This season, the footballer played two matches in the FONBET Russian Cup, but did not score a single goal.
– This summer Rubin contacted me and showed active interest, we quickly agreed. The management of the Kazan team convinced me that the team needed me, everything would depend on me. When I moved to Rubin, I lost money twice and refused part of the compensation for early termination of the contract with Krasnodar – all this for playing football.
The decision was probably more emotional than 100% thought through. I didn’t take all the points into account. I had a kind of veil before my eyes: back in my original club, the management insisted – the decision was made literally within a few days. My relatives wished me good luck, they also succumbed to emotions seeing my situation in Krasnodar.
In the end, it didn’t turn out the way I hoped. I was surprised not to be included in the team for the first match, I played for the Cup with Rostov, but then again – one, two, three matches were not included in the team.. .After three of these matches, I approached the coach. Rakhimov said that I had a difficult time in Krasnodar, that I needed to improve, that he didn’t see me in the lineup. Ok, I didn’t slow down, I trained as much as possible, during the holidays I prepared the training camps to prove myself there. But it turned out that they didn’t take me to the training camp,” Sorokin was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
