Deontay could fight Parker or Zhilei
Shelley Finkelmanager of former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilderis interested in organizing a fight for his ward on the undercard of the fight Anthony Joshua – Francis Ngannou.
“We would like to be part of the Joshua-Ngannou show. If there is such a possibility, we will gladly consider it. Deontay will be ready for this.”
“You can’t say in advance, but I assume Joshua will beat Ngannou. Then, hopefully, we will see that same Deontay, and he will also win. Of course, if they both win, then it will be natural to have a head-to-head fight between Wilder and Joshua.”
“We like the idea of a rematch with Parker, but it hasn’t been discussed. Either way, if Zhilei is available, it will be a big fight. I think the fight between Deontay and Zhang can compete with the Joshua-Ngannou fight. It would again be a phenomenal spectacle for the public.”
At the end of December, Wilder lost to Joseph Parker at the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Riyadh. The New Zealander won by unanimous decision – 118:111, 118:110, 120:108.
Joshua will fight Ngannou on March 8 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. Previously, the Briton planned to fight Wilder that day, but the fight fell through due to the American’s defeat by Parker.
