After agreeing the sale of Gabriel Pec to Los Angeles Galaxy, from MLS, Vasco will receive for every goal scored by the striker in the United States
O Vasco arranged the sale of Gabriel Pec to the Los Angeles Galaxyfrom the MLS, for 10 million dollars, around R$49 million at the current price. Despite the agreement, the Vasco board conducted the deal with great caution to obtain the best possible result. At first, the North American club’s proposal was not very convincing to Gigante da Colina, who reached more exciting values.
In the first contact, the LA Galaxy made a proposal for 80% of Pec’s economic rights, for 8 million dollars. Furthermore, payment was stipulated to take place in installments. However, Vasco was interested in keeping a higher percentage of the athlete, in addition to seeking an even higher value for the transfer.
Therefore, with the arrival of Alexandre Mattos, the club’s new football director, Vasco reached a common denominator with the North Americans, worth 10 million dollars for 70% economic rights. Other than that, the contract contains some clauses that could yield up to 1.5 million dollars to Gigante da Colina in bonuses.
Among the clauses provided, Vasco will receive an amount of 10 thousand dollars for each goal scored by Gabriel Pec. The trigger is only valid for the striker’s first 50 goals with the LA Galaxy shirt. Therefore, Cariocas can earn up to 500 thousand dollars with this agreement.
Finally, according to ‘GE’, there is one last clause that could yield one million dollars to Vasco. If Gabriel Pec is not traded within a certain period of time and remains at LA Galaxy, the Brazilian club will receive another payment.
