24 participants are divided into six groups. The two best teams from each quartet, as well as the four best third places, will advance to the 1/8 finals.

At CAN 2023, the champion of Ukraine Shakhtar will be represented – its defender Novatus Miroshi in the Tanzania team’s entry.

Senegal will defend the title of the current champion. The record holder for the number of victories in CAS is Egypt (7). In second place is Cameroon (5), in third is Ghana (4).

According to bookmaker quotes, Senegal is the main favorite to win CAN 2023 with odds of 6.0. Next came Algeria (7.0), Cote d’Ivoire and Morocco (7.50).
