The Blues’ summer rookie spent a long time recovering from injury, played four matches and ended up in the hospital again
Head coach Chelsea Mauricio Pochettino concerned about the striker’s new injury Christopher Nkunku and the lack of accurate information about the timing of his recovery.
“In the next few days we will see the situation with Nkunku. That’s why I’m a little worried because I don’t have complete information about whether it will be available soon or not.”
Nkunku, who joined Chelsea from Leipzig in the summer, suffered a knee injury in the first half of the test match against Borussia Dortmund on August 3. Christopher underwent surgery and had a long recovery.
The Frenchman played his first official match for Chelsea only on December 19, in the Cup against Newcastle. Five days later, he scored his debut goal against Wolverhampton (1:2). After this, Nkunku played for Chelsea twice more and went on sick leave again with a hip injury.
Chelsea, for which Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudrik plays, is in 10th place in the Premier League. Today, January 13, Pochettino’s team will host Fulham. Starts at 14:30 Kyiv time.
