Experienced winger counts on Dynamo’s young players
Midfielder Andrey Yarmolenko believes that Alexander Shovkovsky capable of serious achievements at the head of the Kyiv Dynamo.
“Of course, I believe that Alexander Shovkovsky will lead the team to the championship, and I will do everything in my power for this. The most important thing is to be together, to be one team, one family, to do what the head coach and coaching staff asks.”
“The last games last year showed that the team can win and get results. Everything is in our hands and feet. We need to prepare well at the training camp and approach the second part of the championship in the best condition.”
“I see great potential in our players; there are a lot of young guys in the team. Of course, some time must pass, because it is normal when at a young age there is a lack of stability. All players went through this. I think you remember when I was 19-20 years old, it was exactly the same for me. You need to endure, lose some matches in order to gain experience. We will do everything to ensure that Dynamo becomes the champion this year.”
Yarmolenko has played nine matches for the club this season (four goals and one assist). The winger is currently recovering from surgery.
At the end of the first part of the season, Dynamo officially appointed Alexander Shovkovsky as head coach. The specialist had previously temporarily acted as a mentor. Under the leadership of Shovkovsky, the Kiev team won four matches in a row.
In the Ukrainian Championship, Dynamo takes fifth place. The gap between the white-blues and the leader Krivbass is six points, while the Kiev team has three games in hand. The Premier League season will resume at the end of February.
