The leader of the ranking was the striker of the Egyptian national team Mohamed Salah. The 31-year-old footballer is now a player for the English club Liverpool. Second place went to former Mialan player George Weah. He is now president of Liberia. Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o comes in third place. The current Cameroon Football Federation boss played for Barcelona, Inter, Anzhi Makhachkala and Chelsea during his career.

The African Cup of Nations will begin today, January 13, with a match between the tournament host, the Ivory Coast team, and the Guinea-Bissau team. The current winner of the tournament is the Senegalese team.
