Daniele played for Wolves for almost 18 years
Roma is considering the option of dismissing the team’s head coach Jose Mourinho.
The reason for the termination of the contract could be Wolves’ unsatisfactory results in recent weeks: four defeats in the last seven meetings, including elimination from the Italian Cup.
Legendary midfielder being considered to replace Mourinho Daniele De Rossi. In his coaching career, 40-year-old De Rossi was an assistant to national team coach Roberto Mancini at Italy’s victorious Euro 2020, and also led SPAL.
Daniele is a student of Roma. He made his debut for the Romans in the 2001/02 season. In total, Daniele played 616 matches for Wolves, scoring 63 goals and 55 assists. Together with the team, he won the Italian Cup twice and won the Italian Super Cup once.
Jose Mourinho has been in charge of Roma since 2021. With Wolves, the Portuguese won the first ever Conference League (2022), and also led the Roman club to the 2022/23 UEFA Europa League final, where he lost on penalties to Seville.
The Romans currently occupy ninth place in the Serie A standings. On January 20, Mourinho’s team will play against Verona.
