Former World Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker next fight will be with the holder of the WBO interim belt Zhang Zhilei. The fight will take place on the undercard of the fight Anthony Joshua with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou 9th of March.
IBF heavyweight title mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic was previously considered Parker’s most likely next opponent. The Croatian said he accepted the New Zealander’s team’s offer for the fight.
At the end of December, Parker fought as part of the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Riyadh. Joseph defeated Deontay Wilder by unanimous decision. The New Zealander’s success caused the breakdown of the Joshua-Wilder fight. Zhilei in his last fight defeated Joe Joyce in a rematch, knocking out the Briton in the third round.
The fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou is planned to take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. An official press conference dedicated to the event is scheduled for January 15 in London.
