Brazilian Madruga received the FIFA Puskas Prize for the best goal of the year

The midfielder scored with a spectacular overhead kick from outside the penalty area

Midfielder Guilherme Madruga became scorer of the best goal of 2023 according to FIFA. The 23-year-old Brazilian received Ferenc Puskás Prize during The Best FIFA Football Awards 2023 ceremony in London.

Madruga received a prize for spectacular overhead kick goal from outside the penalty area in the match of the 14th round of Serie B Novorizontino – Botafogo SP (0:1).

In the 2023 season, Madruga played for Botafogo SP, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists in 46 matches. In January 2024, the midfielder moved to Cuiaba.

As part of The Best FIFA Awards 2023, Pep Guardiola received the award for the best coach of the year, Ederson – the best goalkeeper. The symbolic team of the year was also determined.
