Free Scratch course for children from Favbet Foundation and Code Club Ukraine: How to register

Start of the first stream of the course – January 20

The Favbet Foundation and the All-Ukrainian educational initiative Code Club Ukraine announced the start of the next stage of the “IT Kids” project, which teaches Ukrainian youth the basics of programming.

This time, children and teenagers can take part in a programming course on Scratch. It’s a visually simple language that’s ideal for introducing key programming and IT concepts.

The start of the first stream of the course is January 20. Announcements of enrollments (groups vary according to schedule and age of students) and links to registration will be published on project page on Facebookin real time.

All you have to do to join is select the age category, class time and register. Parents can do this.

The Scratch course from the Favbet Foundation and Code Club Ukraine is designed for students aged 8-11 and is divided into three levels of difficulty depending on age. During their training, they will learn to develop animations, interactive stories and even games under the guidance of experienced mentors.

At the end of the course, children will receive a certificate and will be able to take part in a creative competition, where they will use Scratch to create their own project on the theme “The Future of My Country.”

Training will be conducted both offline and online, so children from all regions of Ukraine will be able to join the initiative.

Training in war is a huge challenge. And we are very proud that, despite everything, all Ukrainian children do not lose their thirst for new knowledge and self-realization. I hope that this course will help many young Ukrainians take their first steps in a modern profession, which in the future will help them build the Ukraine of their dreams“says Evgeniy Bondar, curator of Favbet Foundation projects.

The Scratch course is part of the “IT Kids” initiative, which the Favbet Foundation team is implementing as part of its own “Superheroes Club” project. “IT Kids” started last year with the launch of the “New Python” course together with Code Club Ukraine. 352 children were trained in 30 online and offline groups, 156 of them from families of military personnel and IDPs.

The Favbet Foundation plans to further develop educational initiatives in the IT field, which will always remain free.
