Fabio Capello worked with the Russian national team from July 2012 to June 2015. After several missed matches during qualifying for Euro 2016, he was fired, and Leonid Slutsky was invited to the position of head coach of the RFU national team. In total, under the leadership of Capello, the Russian national team played 33 matches, won 17 victories, drew 11 times and suffered five defeats. With him, the Russians qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
