The first racket of Ukraine coped with Tomova from Bulgaria without any problems
The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina confidently passed the second round Australian Open 2024defeating the representative of Bulgaria Victoria Tomova.
The fight lasted a little over an hour. Elina played the first set almost perfectly, losing only the very first game to her opponent.
In the second game, Tomova managed to force a fight. She made a break in the third game, but immediately gave up her serve. Subsequently, Svitolina converted two more break points and celebrated the victory.
Let us remind you that Victoria Tomova is one of the participants in the tennis tournament in St. Petersburg, held at the end of 2023.
Svitolina made it to the third round of the Australian Open behind Lesya Tsurenko and Marta Kostyuk. Dayana Yastremskaya may soon follow the example of her compatriots.
In the 1/16 finals, Elina will compete with the winner of the match Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) – Victoria Golubic (Switzerland).
