John Fury: Why change something that isn’t broken? Tyson knows what he needs to do

The father of the “Gypsy King” believes that his son is “not a fool” and will prepare for Usik as needed

John Furyfather of the WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Furyshared his opinion on the peculiarities of preparing his son for the fight for the title of absolute world champion against the holder of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles Alexandra Usika.

“Tyson is a veteran of the game, no one can teach him new tricks. What he needed to do was work on his body and box properly like he knows how to do.”

“Why change something that isn’t broken? He does what he does. He knows what he needs to do. He’s not a fool. And I hope that the team can unite and do everything that needs to be done for the fight.”

Previously, John was worried about the lack of professionalism around the “Gypsy King,” which could lead to a failure in preparation and cost Tyson his first defeat in his professional career.

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
