Kostyuk and Kawa withdrew from the 2024 Australian Open doubles before the second round match

The German-French couple Korpacz – Leshemya passed on without a fight

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk and her colleague Katarzyna Kava (Poland) refused to participate in doubles Australian Open 2024 before the second round match.

Thus, the duo Tamara Korpach / Eliksan Leshemya (Germany / France) advanced to the 1/8 finals without a fight.

Let us remind you that Kostyuk is successfully advancing through the singles bracket of the Australian major. The day before, Marta beat Russian Elina Avanesyan in a strong-willed manner and for the first time in her career made it to the 1/8 finals of the AO-2024. There, her opponent will be another “neutral” tennis player – Maria Timofeeva.

Following her, Dayana Yastremskaya and Elina Svitolina entered the fourth round. For the first time, more than one Ukrainian tennis player will play at this stage of the Australian Open.

As for the doubles, Lyudmila Kichenok continues to fight there in tandem with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. In the third round they will play Fang Hsien Wu (Taiwan) / Lin Zhu (China).
