Athletistic / Football. The head of the press service of Spartak Moscow, Dmitry Zelenov, responded to reports about the possible departure of head coach Guillermo Abascal. Earlier, Spanish media reported that the red and white coach was a candidate for the position of head coach of Cádiz.

“Abaskal is focused on preparing for Spartak’s training camp. We see no point in commenting on these rumors,” Zelenov was quoted as saying by Sport-Express.

On January 20, Spanish journalist Angel Garcia wrote on his social media page that Cadiz was considering the possibility of appointing Abascal. The Andalusians currently occupy 18th place in the La Liga table, being in the relegation zone.

Guillermo Abascal has worked for Spartak since June 2022. Over 18 days of the current RPL season, the red and white have scored 30 points and now occupy fifth place in the standings. In the 2022/2023 season, the Spaniard helped Spartak become bronze medalists of the Russian Championship.
