The agreement term is until the end of the 2024/25 season
Midfielder Taras Stepanenko entered into a new employment agreement with Miner.
Captain Gornyakov extended his contract with the club for a year and a half – until the end of the 2024/25 season. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Stepanenko has been playing for Shakhtar since the summer of 2010. This season he played 18 matches for the Donetsk club in all tournaments, scoring one assist.
With the Miners, the 34-year-old midfielder won 23 trophies, including nine Ukrainian championship titles. Stepanenko is also among the top 5 Shakhtar players in terms of the number of matches played in the team’s entire history.
Shakhtar are in fourth place in the UPL, three points behind the leaders, but with two games in hand. The miners will play Marseille in the 1/16 finals of the Europa League in February. The team is currently at training camp in Belek, Turkey.
