Omar Berrada appointed as new Manchester United chief executive

Previously, the Moroccan worked in the City Group structure

Moroccan functionary Omar Berrada appointed as new CEO Manchester United.

Berrada will succeed Richard Arnold, who served from February 2022 to November 2023. The date the new head takes office will be announced later. Patrick Stewart will continue to serve as interim CEO.

The Moroccan is now Director of Football Operations at the City Football Group and is completing his transfer to Manchester City. Previously, the Moroccan worked in senior positions in Barcelona.

Recall that in December, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired a 25% stake in Manchester United. The head of the chemical giant INEOS controls the football structure of the club, and subsequently plans to buy out the entire business associated with Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in seventh place in the Premier League with 39 points. Manchester United will next play Newport in the FA Cup on 28 January.
