Zenit head coach Sergei Semak explained on why defenders Vyacheslav Karavaev and Nino, as well as midfielder Ilzat Akhmetov, will not take part in the friendly match with Dynamo Samarkand.
The St. Petersburg club will face Dynamo Samarkand on Sunday in the first match of the Winline Winter match series as part of the training camp in Abu Dhabi.
— In what state does Zenit approach the first match at training camp?
— Condition is normal for collection. A little tired, but ready to play, because footballers like playing more than training, that’s true. I hope we have a good fight today. This is what we currently need to work on in training camp.
— You watched the match between Dynamo Samarkand and Rostov (1:4). What impression did your opponent leave?
— There was time to watch a round and a half. The game was also interesting from Rostov’s point of view. The first half was intense and the quality of play was good; Rostov knew how to convert his chances. The second half was different, but overall it was a good match.
— Will all Zenit players present at the training camp be able to participate in the match?
— Slava Karavaev had a fairly long recovery period, he was given a little more time to prepare. Nino won’t play today either – he still needs to work and get back into good functional condition. And Ilzat Akhmetov will also do another job today: in the next match he will be in action. Overall, there are small issues that we think are bigger than the players themselves. We gave them the opportunity to get a little more involved in the way they needed to play,” Semak said on .
The meeting between Zenit and Dynamo (Samarkand) will take place in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Watch the live broadcast of the match from 2:55 p.m. (Moscow time) on the and MATCH PREMIER TV channels, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
