The Dynamo legend returns to the UPL
Head coach Metalist 1925 Victor Skripnik announced the transfer of ex-Dynamo player Denis Garmash to the Kharkov club.
“I wanted Vladlen Yurchenko, and I got him. I also wanted and want Denis Garmash, who will join us – this is also a fact. As for the following names, contracts with them have not yet been signed, but we have contacts and conversations with players that we want to see here. But it all depends on the desires of the club management and the players themselves. The whole process is ongoing. When there is already a fact, then you will see everything.”
Let us remind you that on January 16, Garmash terminated the contract with Osijek ahead of schedule by agreement of the parties. The midfielder moved to the Croatian club in September, signing a contract for one season with an option to extend for another year. However, in the fall, Denis played only four matches for the club in all tournaments.
Garmash is 33 years old. He played 359 matches for Dynamo (including 238 in the UPL), in which he made 99 effective actions.
Skripnik will head Metalist 1925 in December 2023. The first winter transfer from Kharkiv was midfielder Vladlen Yurchenko, who previously played for Skripnik in Zarya and Vorskla.
The Kharkiv team finished the first part of the 2023/2024 championship in 12th place, one point ahead of the play-off zone. In the first round after the winter break, Metalist 1925 will play against Dynamo in a nominally home match. The base date for the meeting is February 24.
