Leonenko: Shakhtar wants to sell Sudakov for 70 million, if not more, but in the end it could end up the same as with Mudrik

According to the expert, it will now be difficult for Sudakov to maintain a high level of play

Ex-player of Dynamo and the Ukrainian national team, former expert of TK Football 1/2/3 Victor Leonenko stated that the midfielder Georgy Sudakov worth pursuing a career in Shakhtar and not make a move to Europe in the near future.

“40 million is not enough for Shakhtar. In general, I would leave Sudakov, he still needs to be tested in European competitions, because by and large he has not proven himself in any way. Everyone talks about Sudakov, but look at his statistics – three goals and one assist in 18 matches.”

“And in another club it will be more difficult for him than in Shakhtar, because not everyone controls the ball like the Donetsk team. A good footballer must stand out and show results in any club. Let us now imagine that he is in Naples. This is not a club that is in first place every year and often has to snatch victories. It will be difficult for Sudakov there.”

“Of course, Shakhtar wants to sell Sudakov for 70 million, if not more, but in the end it could end up the same as with Mudrik. For the club this is great, but for an unprepared football player this is not very good. They throw out a lot of money for him, but the player simply does not meet the level.”

“I think that after Mudrik, Ukrainians will not be taken to England for big money. This is the same story as with Yarmolenko in Borussia Dortmund. After Yarmolenko, none of our people were really invited to Germany, because Andrey didn’t work out.”

It was reported that the Miners plan to earn at least 40 million euros from the Georgiy transition. At the same time, Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin said that the Donetsk club rejected the request to transfer the midfielder for 40 million euros.

Sudakov is being wooed to the top clubs in Europe. In particular, the midfielder’s entourage is negotiating with Manchester City, Liverpool and Bayern. Georgiy is also on the list of priority targets for Leipzig, Juventus and Napoli. Barcelona coach Xavi is personally interested in the player’s transfer.

This season, 21-year-old Sudakov has scored three goals and provided one assist in 16 matches for Shakhtar. The midfielder has been recognized as the Miners’ best player for three months in a row.

Shakhtar ranks fourth in the UPL. In February, the Miners will play Marseille in the Europa League playoffs.
