Curva Nord del Pisa, having made a clear signal, wanted to reiterate its desire not to be present in the stands of the Arena Garibaldi during home matches until capacity has been increased. This is a press release published Calciopisa.it:
“We would never have believed that we would reach this point, but in light of a situation that, in our opinion, cannot be resolved except by radical means, we announce our decision to no longer enter Curva Nord for an indefinite period until an increase occurs in its capacity and a larger number of tickets available to everyone.
When it is announced that capacity will increase from the current seats to “x” seats, only then will we consider returning to the stadium for home games.
This is not a “support strike.” We will be present at all away matches, we were in Lecco, Catanzaro and we will be in Cosenza.
We guarantee the team and the jersey maximum support in every possible way: during the week, before and after, in training, on the streets, throughout Italy, but, and we say this as subscribers of the Pisa sports club, we will no longer be part of this Curva, until the situation changes, which has slowly taken away from many the desire to go to the match with a light heart, like going to a party. We’re not having fun anymore.
This is a shot from the stadium. We no longer want stadium entry to be seen as a public order issue. There was never a public order issue when visiting the Curva in Pisa, a safe place for families, small children, etc. It never was, at least until the arrival of the new commissioner. Now it’s like a movie. Little girls and boys were captured and thrown out of Kurwa.
People with subscriptions who cannot get in and go home, others for whom everything is carefully checked by calls to the State Service of Ukraine, requests for payment receipts, and endless waits. Matches were viewed from the 40th minute of the first half. And we are in the middle, trying to mediate or manage and protect those who comply and remain on the streets. In a rush to grab a few tickets that sometimes yes, sometimes no, go on sale.
With the summer subscription rush. With experiments that change control back and forth every week: then the CCP will arrive, then who knows what, even the right solutions, maybe we don’t care, but we are targeting the wrong problem.
The new problem of the city of Pisa is to avoid the presence of “Portuguese” in the stadium and this has led to the demonization of even those who have all the necessary conditions to enter the stadium, as always when a witch hunt begins.
Therefore, to try to reduce the inconvenience caused by the police hunting down illegal immigrants, CCPs, new gates, press releases, meetings, etc. appear.
However, in our opinion, this “problem” is the result of a real problem: Curva Nord, despite being empty, has a ridiculous capacity; Tickets are impossible to find and being “sold out” is not something to be proud of because it is easy to be “sold out” if you put fewer seats on sale than requested.
It is easy to sell out if you expand north towards the steps and at a lower cost you will be able to purchase a season ticket to the Curve with a view equal to the side steps. This “network” was supposed to be temporary. Instead, people who had been in the stands for years rushed into battle for North season tickets.
In the newspapers in 2007, the day after Pisa’s promotion to Serie B, the stadium issue was already a major topic. A new company that had just been created put the stadium at the center of the project. Everyone thinks about this stadium, but the Curva is still the same, and the capacity has decreased ridiculously when you think about how many seats there actually are and how many are for sale. We were glad that Mr. Aquilani asked for bedlam at the match with Spezia.
But he also made us smile because we couldn’t cause the “bedlam” he means by entering in the same way. There has been no bedlam in Pisa for many years. With the exception of Pisa-Monza. Many people (not us) have stuffed their mouths with this match. Pisans! We are so beautiful! But have you ever wondered how we managed to be so beautiful? Who and what was behind those impressive overhead photos you post on social media? In the current situation, if the entrance was organized as it is now, the stadium would be empty. Also for Pisa-Monza. And all hell would probably break loose outside.
Given all this and more, we have reached a tipping point. We can’t do that, because of who we are, because of our history, because of how we understand communication in the stadium, to show up as season ticket holders as if nothing had happened and cheer for our team, and whatever it is. happens on the street, it happens, and the one who is not there can come and stay at home.
Instead of entering the Curva like this and continuing to experience a very difficult situation for us and thinking about Pisa, which will be higher in the standings, we prefer to withdraw from the game and persistently ask for a real turning point.
It will take as long as it takes. We will return when all Pisa fans, including young ones who should be able to show enthusiasm, as we and many others once did, have the opportunity to come to a match in an adequate and organized North.
We do not expect that our decision will be supported by everyone. We know many will ask to log in to be closer to the team. We hope that at least those who know us or who have lived through recent events with us understand the motives behind them. We have no desire to harm anyone, but we believe it is time to radically move from speech to facts.”
