The London club avenged their defeat in the first match and reached the final of the tournament.

Chelsea are one step away from lifting the trophy. Despite a poor performance in the championship, the London club reached the League Cup final.

To do so, the Blues had to overcome the resistance of Championship representatives Middlesbrough in the semi-finals. We remind you that the first match between these teams ended in favor of Boro 1:0. However, in the second battle, which took place in London, there was not even a hint of a battle.

Even in the first half, Chelsea scored four clean sheets against their lower class opponents. It should be noted that Mikhail Mudrik entered the field for the Premier League club from the first minutes. However, he did not take part in any of the four goals and was substituted at half time.

With the Ukrainian gone, the Londoners scored twice more in the second half, then allowed Middlesbrough to score a prestigious goal. 6:1 – in favor of Chelsea, and in the final they will meet the winner of the Liverpool – Fulham pair.
