Midfielder leaves Athletico Paranaense and returns to the club that revealed him to the world of football after 17 years away
The good Son returns home! The Chilean steering wheel Arturo Vidal was officially announced by Colo-Colo this last Monday, 22nd. Formed by the club Chile, the midfielder is back at the club after 17 years. The player is in the final stretch of his recovery from a knee injury he suffered in September, while defending the national team in the World Cup qualifiers.
Vidal was hired by AthleticoParaná in July 2023, after leaving Flamengo early. The midfielder accepted 20% of the salary he received in red and black, which was the equivalent of around R$1 million. The Chilean played nine games in total for Furacão.

In recent months, the steering wheel has drawn attention due to statements and posts. In October, he outraged Atletico fans on social media by celebrating one year since winning the Libertadores by Flamengo, in 2022, which was won against Furacão. Vidal even tried to find a place at Boca Juniors in August, when he revealed that he would support the team from Argentina in Libertadores and that “I was waiting for Riquelme to call”. After Riquelme showed interest, the player shared photos wearing clothes in the club’s colors.
