Athletistic/Football. Spartak striker Quincy Promes faces a long sentence of nine years for his part in trafficking a large shipment of cocaine weighing 1,370 kg. This delay was requested by the Dutch public prosecutor’s office during the current hearing, reports De Telegraaf.

The court alleges that Promes played a “key role” in the smuggling of two shipments of cocaine that arrived at the port of Antwerp in January 2020. The footballer himself was not present at the trial and the Dutch prosecution did not succeeded in obtaining his extradition. Currently, Promes is in the United Arab Emirates with Spartak.

Recall that this season Promes played 21 matches for Spartak in various tournaments, scoring eight goals and eight assists.

  • Dutch prosecutors failed to extradite Promes
