Zagallo’s son opens up about fight over his father’s inheritance

Death of the four-time world champion triggered an inheritance dispute between his children after opening his will

The family of Zagallo faces a dispute over the inheritance of the four-time world champion for the Brazilian team. Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo died on January 5th, aged 92. The information is from “Estadão”.

According to the publication, Velho Lobo left a will allocating a large part of his inheritance to his youngest son, Mário César, who spoke about the fight with his brothers. He claimed that the family’s obstacle started a few years ago.

“They [os irmãos] are wanting to appear after seven years. I was the one who took care of my father all this time. There is a document signed by my father saying that he did not want their visits during hospitalizations”, said Mário César.

The youngest son also said that his father had claimed that he preferred not to leave the inheritance to the other children, but he had to follow the law. On the other side of the clash are Paulo Jorge, Maria Emília and Maria Cristina.

The three issued an official statement to the press and accused Mário César of restricting access to Zagallo in his last years of life. They also claim that the youngest son made transactions with his father’s assets.
