19-year-old Georgian footballer signed until the end of 2028
Miner officially announced the signing of a central defender Luke Latsabidze. The Georgian footballer moved from Dynamo Tbilisi. The contract with him is for five years, until December 31, 2028.
Luka is 19 years old, his height is 193 centimeters. Previously, he primarily played for Dynamo Tbilisi-2. In the second half of 2023, he played two matches as part of the first team of the Georgian giants.
Latsabidze is undergoing Turkish training camps together with the Donetsk club. In the first sparring of Marino Pusic’s team against Pyunik (2:0), he came on as a substitute. On February 3, against the Bosnian Velez (2:3), the Georgians played from the first minutes.
This is the third Georgian defender on Shakhtar’s roster over the past year. Earlier in 2023, the Ukrainian champion’s roster was replenished with flankers – Giorgi Gocholeishvili and Irakli Azarov.
Earlier this year, the Donetsk club acquired two Brazilians – winger Kevin and center Marlon Gomez. Both have already been included in the Miners’ applications for the UPL and the Europa League.
Last fall, Shakhtar took third place in Group H of the Champions League. Marino Pusic’s team will play in the 1/16 of the Europa League, where its opponent will be Marseille. In the Ukrainian Championship, the Miners are in fourth place, three points behind the leaders, but with two matches in hand.
