Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino apologized to the London club’s supporters after the defeat in the 23rd round match of the English football championship against Wolverhampton.
On Sunday Chelsea lost at home to Wolverhampton with a score of 2:4 and fell to 11th place in the Premier League standings.
“We started the game well, but when we missed the first goal we started to get nervous and couldn’t handle the stress. I am very disappointed, this feeling must be changed. I apologize to the fans and want to thank the fans who stayed until the end, helping and supporting the team.
I am primarily responsible for this situation and, judging by what we showed today, we lack skills. We didn’t handle the situation properly. We are all responsible. The players must take responsibility, just like me.
We don’t live up to the club’s history at the moment and we have to accept that. We must be critical, but we must not give up. Of course, we will continue to work hard to try to change the results. If it doesn’t work, we may have to move on and try to find other solutions,” Pochettino told Chelsea’s official website.
