With São Paulo joining the list for the first time, the national competition saw another champion this Sunday; see all winners
The Brazilian Super Cup 2024 met its champion: the São Paulo. This Sunday, 4th, in the duel against Palm trees, at Mineirão, Tricolor got the better of the penalties and won the unprecedented title. Choque-Rei marked the seventh edition of the tournament that pits the champions of the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil on the field.
The competition was inaugurated in 1990, but the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) decided on a 27-year hiatus, between 1992 and 2019. The Super Cup resumed in 2020, in the historic confrontation between Palmeiras and Flamengoteams that have competed for the tournament title the most times.

The tournament brings together the current champions of the Copa do Brasil and Brasileirão, the two main competitions of the national tournament. If the same team wins both championships, the Brazilian runner-up wins the spot. However, the São Paulo rivals lifted the trophies in the 2023 season.
