Athletistic / Football. Chelsea fans in London continue to be nostalgic for the days when their favorite club was owned by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich. Last weekend, videos of them chanting the billionaire’s name went viral on social media.

Fans of the London club remembered Abramovich during the 23rd round of the Premier League match with Wolverhampton. The day before, on February 4, Chelsea lost at home to Wolves with a score of 2:4. After this defeat, Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell to 11th place in the English Championship standings. The Blues have scored 31 points in 23 matches.

Roman Abramovich sold Chelsea to a consortium of American businessman Todd Bowley in May 2022. The amount of the transaction amounted to 4.25 billion pounds sterling (approximately 5 billion euros). The Russian businessman was forced to do so by the British authorities, who imposed blocking sanctions on him.
