Faniyan: I want to box for the world champion belt according to one of the main versions

The Ukrainian assumes that he will hold his next fight in early summer

Former IBO International champion and WBF junior welterweight title holder Aram Faniyan shared plans for the future.

“I have one goal and it doesn’t change: I want to box for the world champion belt according to one of the main versions. I really want to bring such a title to Ukraine and bring joy to our country at such a difficult time in history. Therefore, I will continue to train hard, and I believe that my managers will do everything in their power to organize such a fight for me.”

“I don’t have anyone specific as my opponent yet, but I’m not afraid of anyone, and I’ll fight with whomever is necessary. In general, there are a lot of cool fighters in the junior welterweight division. Who is dominant in it? I will be the dominant one in the future.”

“I think my next fight will take place in early summer. Where it will be: in Ukraine or abroad, I cannot say yet. But wherever he is, you will definitely know about him.”

Let us remind you that on January 20, Faniyan knocked out Mexican Francisco Mercado in a fight for the vacant WBF junior welterweight title. This meeting became central to the boxing evening at the Kiev Sports Palace, organized by the promotion company Sparta Boxing Promotions.

At the event, we managed to raise an impressive amount for the UNITED24 project to restore a sports school in Nikolaev. Also, as part of the event, an auction was held with valuable sports and military lots, and the proceeds from it will be transferred to the consolidated paramilitary patrol police unit named after. Nestor Makhno and the Shock Company of the BpAK “Combat Khrushchi”.

In the mentioned fight, the Ukrainian boxer won his first full title – according to the World Boxing Federation. The WBF is not ranked as highly as the five main versions, but its belt should propel Aram into the top 20 of the world’s leading organizations.
