Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Brazilian playmaker has been playing in his homeland for Atlético Mineiro
Miner signed with the midfielder Pedrinho new contract. The Brazilian extended his agreement until the summer 2029.
It is expected that the attacking player will return to the Donetsk club next summer, when his loan in Atlético Mineiro.
At the end of last year, it was reported that Shakhtar no longer intended to rent out the 25-year-old Brazilian and wanted to return him to the squad by offering a new and improved contract.
Pedro Victor Delmino da Silva or simply Pedrinho was bought by Shakhtar from Benfica in 2021 for 18 million euros. He managed to play only 19 matches for the Orange-and-Blacks in all tournaments (4 goals, 3 assists), after which the Russian full-scale invasion broke out, and the footballer went on loan to other Miners, the Brazilian ones.
With Atlético from the state of Minas Gerais, Pedrinho played 43 matches in a year and a half, gave three assists, and did not score any goals.
Another Pedrinho has already been playing for the Donetsk club since the summer of 2023 – 21-year-old defender Pedro Enrique Azevedo Pereira.
This season, Shakhtar took third place in Group H of the Champions League. Marino Pusic’s team will play in the 1/16 of the Europa League, where its opponent will be Marseille. In the Ukrainian Championship, the Miners are in fourth place, three points behind the leaders, but with two matches in hand.
