As reported on La Liga’s website, the RFEF’s anti-violence commission will examine a case in which local fans chanted offensive chants against Real Madrid, as well as the phrase “Vinicius is a monkey”. Previously, the Brazilian footballer was repeatedly subjected to racist insults from fans of other clubs.
The commission will also examine information about a possible insult by Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham towards English Getafe footballer Mason Greenwood. According to media reports, the Madrid player told Greenwood violeur (“rapist”) in English.
In 2022, Greenwood, then playing for Manchester United, was arrested on suspicion of raping his ex-girlfriend; the club suspended the footballer from training and matches. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) subsequently dropped charges against Greenwood.
